We were administered the two knew antibiotics, kelodin and kefacin on 10 postoperative infections, 5 recurrent urinary infections in spinal cord injuries and 5 operative cases prophylactically. Administered dosage was 500mg every 6 hours, intravenously intramuscularly or orally, and 20mg/kg/day for children and for a duration of 10?14 days.
They were effective in 8 patients of 10 postoperative infected cases, all in urinary tract infections and prophylactic cases. They were no response on 2 in 3 pseudomonas infections.
One patient complained of local pain on injected site, but no serious side effects were found in the other patients.
